APRIL 14, 1917 - MARCH 29, 1985

The following is information that was supplied by Irene for the 50th reunion held in 1985:

"I was married to Richard Earl Gardner (also a 1935 graduate) in 1936. We had one son, William E., in 1937. Lived in Kansas City, KS all of our married life. Worked for a corporation lawyer; and insurance company; and then started with a steel plant and work for over 20 years as a secretary. Retired in 1977 from the steel plant. Richard worked at Santa Fe Railroad and retired in February of 1978, but had a heart attach and died in November of 1978. I am still in K.C., KS, but spend a portion of my time in Denver, CO, with my son and his family. I have 2 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; and 2 great-granddaughters. I love to read, crochet, and knit." (Note: Irene passed away March 29, 1985, after making a reservation for our dinner. The Class of '35 sent flowers.)
