CHARLES B. HOLLOWAY

NOVEMBER 17, 1916 - MAY 13, 2001

Charles B. Holloway died at his home in Chico, Calif. on Sunday, May 13, 2001. He was the second child of Conductor L. F. Holloway and Clara Teeter Holloway.

He graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1934 where he played football for "Mac" Steele. He attended Baker University and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and later attended the University of Kansas and majored in Business Administration.

Mr. Holloway was nominated to the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY by U. S. Senator Patricia Solander. He joined the Army and fought in W. W. II and was wounded in Germany.

He married Georgia Dodd of Winston Salem, N.C. They became the parents of three children who survive. They are Mrs. Braxton Conner of Greenville, S.C., Charles Holloway Jr. of Atlanta, and Daniel Holloway of Roswell, Ga.

Mr. Holloway made his home in the Atlanta, Ga., area becoming the successful owner of a chain of Holloway Hallmark Card shops. After he retired he married LaVerne Dallas (also an OHS graduate) and they made their home in the Chico area. She preceded him in death.

A brother, Richard Holloway of Moravia, Costa Rica, and an aunt, Roberta Teeter Wright of Cheyenne, Wyo. also survive.
