Lavergne Thompson, Chico, CA died Wednesday, June 30, 1999 in a hospital in Chico after an extended illness. She was 82. 

The daughter of Craig Hood Dallas and Ruth Addie (Miller) Dallas, she was born July 14, 1916 in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Osawatomie where she attended local schools. She was a 1934 graduate of Osawatomie High School. After receiving her nursing degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO, she moved to California. She worked for Gerber Baby Foods until retiring. Her hobbies were gardening and bridge. Mrs. Thompson was also interested in humanitarian causes. 

Survivors include her husband, Charles Holloway, of Chico; a son, Bob Thompson, Weaverville, CA; four grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Burial of the cremains will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 24, in Osawatomie Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Butte Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
