Georgetta H. Zakoura Parente, 85, a native of Osawatomie, died of natural causes March 5, 2001 at the United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz, PA.

Born in Osawatomie, she was the daughter of Zacharias A. and Mabel Hazaar Zakoura. She attended Osawatomie High School and graduated with the Class of 1933.

She and her husband, Joseph X. Parente, lived in Norristown, PA. He preceded her in death in 1960.

Mrs. Parente was a home economics teacher and had taught at Rittenhouse Junior High School and Norristown area high schools.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Norristown. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo Fisher of Gordonville, PA, and Deborah A. Heyer of Kinzers, PA; a sister, Freda Cole of Paola; a brother, Edward Zakoura of Kansas City, MO; and four grandchildren.

Services held in Norristown followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, also in Norristown.
