Helen Ramona Barnett, 88, Osawatomie, died January 24, 2003 in North Point Skilled Nursing Center in Paola.

She was born December 20, 1914, in Stanton Township in Miami County. She was one of five children of Frederick Edward and Pearle M. Lane Rohrer. She lived her entire life in this area. She attended local school and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1933.

After high school, she attended the Webster Beauty School in Kansas City, MO.

She and Leo L. Barnett were married July 30, 1938 in Osawatomie. They became the parents of four children. Mr. Barnett preceded her in death in 1988.

Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, baby-sitting, gardening and flowers.

Others preceding her in death were a brother, Frederick Rohrer, Jr., and a sister, Rebecca Rohrer.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd L. Barnett of Yuma, AZ; three daughters, Beverly A. Dennis of Osawatomie, Evelyn R. Camerer of Scottsbluff NE, and Sonia K. Sherman of Morrill, NE; a brother, Daryl Rohrer of Paola; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Pallbearers were Bill Griffith, Burk Barnett, Lynn Wobker, Bob Madison, Shawn Younkin and Brandon Younkin. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.

Memorials were to the North Point Skilled Nursing Center in Paola.
