Mary Maxine Powell Morris, 87, Osawatomie, died Wednesday, Sept 12, 2001, in Miami County Medical Center in Paola.

She was born May 25, 1914, in Osawatomie, the oldest of the five children of Loyd M. and Ethel M. Clark Powell. She attended Osawatomie schools and was a 1932 graduate of Osawatomie High School. She was a member of the girls' quartet all four years while in high school.

She and Charles R. Morris were married July 2, 1942, in Paola. He preceded her in death July 18, 1976.

Mrs. Morris was a regional sales manaager for Avon before retiring in the late 1970s.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Osawatomie.

Others preceding her in death were three sisters, Eileen Powell, Loraine Powell and Margaret Sipes, and a brother Jack M. Powell.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday in Osawatomie Cemetery. Arrangements were cared for by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home of Osawatomie.
