Eleanor Fowler Stephens, 90, of Modesto, California, died Tuesday at Bethany Home, Ripon.

Ms. Stephens was a native of Paola, Kan. She lived in Modesto three years and previously lived in Sacramento. She was a teacher for 24 years. She was a member of Arcade Baptist Church, Sacramento.

She is survived by her children, Sally Olsen of Modesto and Jim Stephens of Sacramento; sister, Maxine Swan of Sacramento; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eskaton Village, Carmichael. A graveside service will be at noon Friday at Eastlawn Memorial Park, Sacramento. The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements.
