DELLA WHEELER ALCORN

Concordia - -Services for Della L. Alcorn, Concordia, were held Monday in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Alcorn, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 1990, in St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia.

She was born July 11, 1912, in Parker, the daughter of Robert and Lillian Henry Wheeler. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1931 and later took nurses' training at the Osawatomie State Hospital.

She and B. Russell Alcorn were married Aug. 14, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo. They moved to Concordia from Osawatomie in September 1941.

Mrs. Alcorn was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Concordia.

Among those preceding her in death were her stepfather, Willard Stringham; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Russell, of the home; a daughter, Betty Musick, Concordia; two sons, Ben Alcorn, Beloit, and Marion Alcorn, Bryan, Texas; three brothers, Elmer Wheeler, Independence, Mo., Gene Stringham, Bucyrus, and Jim Stringham, Paola; two sisters, Dorothy Nease, Concordia, and Nettie Koelsch, Paola; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Harry E. Graves conducted the services.

Mrs. Alcorn was cremated.

Memorials have been established in her name to the church and St. Joseph Hospital
