Services for Helen L. Williams were held Wednesday morning (July 13) in St. Philip Neri Church, Osawatomie. She died Sunday (July 10) in the University of Kansas Medical Center. She was 65.

She was born December 16, 1911 in Osawatomie and her parents were Rolland H. and Sarah Jane Fields Kelley. She was a lifelong resident of Osawatomie. Mrs. Williams retired as assistant director of nursing at Osawatomie State Hospital in 1974. She had worked at the hospital 42 years, starting as a psychiatric aide and later serving as nursing instructor before becoming director.

She married Richard E. Williams Jan. 1, 1946 in Osawatomie. He died July 23, 1968.

Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Philip Neri Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Miami County Hospital Auxiliary, and the National Assn. of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees.

Survivors include two brothers, Hiram Kelley, Lane, and Rolland Kelley, Ottawa, and three sisters, Mrs. Jane Bouwkamp, Osawatomie, Mrs. Margaret Pollock, Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Katharine Ellis, Kansas City, Kan.

The Rev. Fr. Joseph Staudinger officiated at the services. The rosary was recited at Eddy-Birchard Chapel Tuesday night. Pallbearers were Wayne G. Fixley, Alvin Blackstone, George Zakoura, Jack Stanley, Les Stanley and Morris Strode. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.

A memorial in Mrs. Williams name has been established to the Kansas Lung Assn.
