CLASS OF 1931 Goetz- Keith Maurice Goetz of two miles west of Osawatomie, died Sunday, July 8, 1945, in St. Mary’s hospital , Kansas City, after an illness of eight weeks, The son of Frank and Bessie Hiles Goetz, he was born near Osawatomie December 29, 1912. His mother died when he was four and he went to live with an aunt, Mrs. Syble Cartzdafner of Upham, N. Dak., and lived there until the fall of 1920 when Cartzdafner family moved to Centropolis. He attended Ottawa High School three years and graduated from Osawatomie high school. He was a member of the Centropolis Christian church. December 29, 1934, Mr. Goetz was married to B. Elizabeth Douglas of Osawatomie. To this union were born two sons, Keith Maurice, Jr. , and Charley Jay. At the time of his death his home was west of Osawatomie, where he was born. He had been an employee of the Missouri Pacific Railroad the past five and one half years. Besides his wife and two sons he leaves his father, Frank Goetz of Osawatomie; two brothers, Clyde Goetz of Hillsdale and Pfc. Harry L. Goetz, stationed in Philippine Islands and two half-brothers, Fred Goetz of LaCygne and Nelson Goetz of Yakima, Wash. Funeral services were held in the Birchard Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 11, 1945, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. C. O. Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Indianapolis cemetery. |
