Vivien A. Dolan, 90, Roeland Park, an Osawatomie native, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Manor.

She was born May 1, 1913, in Osawatomie, the daughter of Norwood Douglas and Bertha Taylor Bush. She was a 1930 graduate of Osawatomie High School. She earned a degree in nursing from Washington University and began her career as a tuberculosis specialist with the Veterans Administration hospitals throughout the country.

She worked as a nurse at Shawnee Mission Medical Center from its beginning until her retirement.

She and William Dolan were married Dec. 20, 1941, and lived in the Kansas City area since 1945.

Mrs. Dolan was a charter member of and the original organist at Hope Lutheran Church in Shawnee.

Survivors include her husband, William Dolan; her three daughters, Maureen Gamble of Overland Park, Kathleen Garcia of Kansas City, Mo., and Eileen Stumpff of Eudora; her two sons, Michael Dolan of Washington, D.C., and Dennis Dolan of Lansing; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were today (Monday) at the church. Burial will be Tuesday in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements were cared for by Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
