Victorville, Calif. - - -Dorothy Tuttle Wilson, 88, a native of Osawatomie, Kans., died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999 in her home in Victorville.

The daughter of Clayton and Edna Cook Tuttle, she was born Jan. 27, 1911 in Osawatomie. She grew up in Osawatomie, attended local schools and was a 1929 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

During her senior year in high school, she began working as the secretary for George A. York, superintendent of schools in Osawatomie. She continued working in this position until taking a train to California to marry Russell Willson.

She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Osawatomie and Osawatomie Chapter No. 26 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wilson, whose mother helped organize the Osawatomie High School Alumni, attended alumni gatherings in Osawatomie nearly every year. One of her hobbies was bridge.

Among those preceding her in death were her husband, Russell, who died in 1989, and three sisters, Bernice Chapman, Eleanor Peterson and Sara Jo Stockwell.

Survivors include two children, Janet Powell and Warren Wilson, both of Victorville; a sister, Martha Ainsworth, Claremont, Calif.; and on grandson.

Memorial services were held Aug. 30 in San Bernardino.
