LLOYD BRENT 'DOC' TROUT

CLASS OF 1929

Services for Lloyd B. "Doc" Trout, Osawatomie, were held Jan 28 in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.

Mr. Trout, a longtime Osawatomie resident and retired railroader, died Sunday, Jan 25, 1998 in Vintage Park Assisted Living in Louisburg. He was 86.

Born Oct. 10, 1911 in Austin, Ark., he was the son of Willis Winn and Minnie Short Trout. He attended grade school in Arkansas and was a 1929 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

He and Aarla Octavia Teini were married Feb. 2, 1944 in San Francisco. They became the parents of three children. They made their home in Osawatomie. Mrs. Trout died July 22, 1993.

Mr. Trout was a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He retired in the mid-1970s.

In addition to hie wife, those preceding him in death were a sister; a half-sister; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include a son, Brent Trout, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Susan Atkinson, Olathe, and Sarah Weaver, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Officiating were the Rev. Larry Osborne, assisted by the Rev. Bill Pingry. Donna Diediker, sang, accompanied by the organist, Marjorie Gaeddert. Pallbearers were Randy Potter, Ron Atkinson, Tony Weaver, Eddie Gilman, Jim Cortner and Don Lindsey. Military services were provided at the graveside in Osawatomie Cemetery by a unit from Fort Riley.

A memorial has been established in his name to the American Cancer Society.
