ELEANOR A. THOMS DANIEL

FEBRUARY 5, 1910 - SEPTEMBER 25, 2005

Eleanor A. Daniel, 95, Topeka, a former Osawatomie resident, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Lexington Park Nursing Facility in Topeka.

She was born Feb. 5, 1910, in Blue Mound, the daughter of John O. and Nannie Johnson Thoms.

She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1929. She was employed by the state of Kansas before she moved in 1944 to Topeka, where she was employed by Hallmark Cards.

She was married to Neil V. Daniel in 1945. He died in February 1975.

Mrs. Daniel was a member of Central Congregational Church for more than 50 years and the Women's Fellowship and Group Eleven of the church. She was also a member of the Topeka Travel Club and the YWCA.

Others preceding her in death were two brothers, Earl Thoms and Carl Thoms, and two sisters, Frances Ricketts and Naomi Matthews.

Surviving are a niece, Connie Keast of Osawatomie; four nephews, Dan Ricketts and Gary Ricketts, both of Meriden, Kan., Joe Ricketts of Plano, Texas, and Doug Evans of Dawson, Ga.; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be in the Topeka Cemetery at a later date.
