APRIL 10, 1911 - APRIL 23, 1963

Melverne Clarence Mooney, 52, died April 23, 1963, at his home in Osawatomie. He was born April 10, 1911, near Ottawa, the son of John

William and Mary Christine Mooney.

Mr. Mooney attended school in Osawatomie and graduated with the class of 1929. He was married to Linnie Jenkins November 10, 1932, and a daughter, Janice, was born to them.

Mr. Mooney spent two years in the armed forces. He later was a postal clerk in the Osawatomie post office until his retirement because of ill health. He was a member of the Osawatomie Methodist church, the Osage Valley Lodge No. 24, AF&AM and Hinkle Post 204, American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of the home; his daughter, Mrs. Janice Miller of Kansas City, Kans; his father, J. W Mooney of Denver; one brother, Earl Mooney of Osawatomie and one sister, Mrs. Alice Hastings of Denver.

Funeral services were held Thursday in the Eddy Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial was in the Osawatomie cemetery.
