CLASS OF 1928 JULY 13, 1910 - NOVEMBER 26, 1981 Mrs. Nella Lucille Austin, 71, of Olathe died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1981, at the Olathe Community Hospital. She was born in Osawatomie July 13, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Molly Lyons Barr. She grew up in Osawatomie and attended schools there, graduating with the class of 1928. Nov. 16, 1933, she was married to George Austin. Mrs. Austin was an active member of the First Christian Church for many years. She was cashier at the American State Bank in Osawatomie and retired in 1972. They moved to Olathe in 1976. Her parents and a brother, Basil Barr, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, George Austin; a son, Jerry Austin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Holloman of Olathe; five grandchildren; one great-grand-daughter, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hagadorn of Olathe, and Mrs. Marie Webb of Hemut, Calif. Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. The Rev. Almon Martin officiated. Organ selections were provided by Mrs. Nelle Dollar. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Merle Ensle, Verne Ensle, Nick Chamberlin, Glenn Hardesty, Jerry Law and Don Lindsey, Sr. |
