Raymond Whitla, a former resident of Osawatomie, died Saturday morning in Little Rock, Ark. He was 67.

Services for Mr. Whitla will be held in Little Rock Thursday with burial there.

Mr. Whitla was a 1927 graduate of Osawatomie High School and was a geologist for the Army Corps of Engineers. During his career, Mr. Whitla was involved with Seaway, Norfolk Reservoir and Bull Shoals Lake. He was stationed at the Corps office in Washington at the time of his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Amy, three daughters and a son.

He is a brother of Ralph Whitla, Osawatomie.
