AUGUST 17, 1909 - NOVEMBER 12, 1979

Thomas Louis Speck, Senior, of 221 Mill Street, Osawatomie, died November 12, 1979 at the Holiday Manor in Osawatomie. He was 70.

The son of Lloyd and Grace Hunt Speck, he was born August 17, 1909 in Bartlesville, OK. The family moved from Dewey, OK, to Osawatomie, and he graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1927. He attended Baker University in Baldwin City.

He married Genevieve Dickey on June 4, 1941 in Fort Scott. They became the parents of three children. Mr. Speck worked as a civil engineer on the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1963.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Glenn and Robert.

He was survived by his wife, Genevieve; a daughter, Ann; two sons, Thomas L. Jr. and Richard; and two grandchildren. Masonic ceremonies were held. Pallbearers were James Dudley, Glenn Bartlett, Gary Burgoon, Wes Cole, Larry Coker, and Bob Cook. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
