LaVerne Cresse age 54, died May 22, 1962 at his home in Raytown. The son of Clarence M. and Hattie E. Cresse, he was born at Osawatomie August 24, 1907. He attended public schools in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie high school in 1927.

September 20, 1930 he was married to Fern Shaley and one son, Robert LaVern, was born to them.

At the time of his death, Mr. Cresse was employed at the Willis Sales company in Kansas City.  He was a member of the Christian church and the Osage Valley Lodge No. 24.

Mr. Cresse is survived by his wife, his son, three grandsons, on granddaughter and one aunt, Mrs. Etta Lester of Osawatomie.

Funeral services were held in the Birchard Funeral home May 25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dean Breedlove officiating. Burial was in the Elmdale cemetery with Masonic services at the grave.
