Mrs. Maudie Wagers, 76, Osawatomie, died Wednesday, May 1, 1985, at the Olathe Community Hospital.

The oldest of four children of Charles Howard and Lillie Clover Waltman she was born May 18, 1908, in Lincoln, Mo. The family moved to Osawatomie when she was eight years of age and she attended the schools there. She graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1926.

She was married in Paola, June 29, 1929, to Walter Park Wagers, who was known as Pete.

Most of her life Mrs. Wagers was a homemaker. During the 1960s she worked at the Osawatomie State Hospital and in the Miami County treasurer's office in Paola.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Osawatomie, the Amoga Class and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Her parents, a sister, and her husband, who died Jan 17, 1985, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Park Wayne Wagers of Pasadena, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Bloxsom of Mission, Kan., and Mrs. Florence Condiff of Wichita.

The services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. The Rev. Rich Roberts Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Nelle Dollar accompanied Jean Smith and Nancye Snyder as they sang "An Evening Prayer."

John Billam, Tim Judd, Fred Barden and Everett Coleman served as the pallbearers. The burial was in the Osawotmie Cemetery.

Memorials were given in her name to the church.
