Nellie Marie Shoemaker, 93, a native of Osawatomie, died January 6, 2001 at a nursing home in Bozeman, MT, where she had lived since July 2000.

She was born July 20, 1907, in Osawatomie, the daughter of Louis and Ameilia Homrighausen. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1926.

Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bozeman.

She and Earl Shoemaker were married in 1929. They lived in Utah for several years before returning to Kansas to be near their family. They owned and operated a Texaco service station and later the Nod-A-Way Motel, both in Topeka, before retiring. They later moved to Bozeman. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Delk of Huntsville, AL, and Bonnie Landerfahl of Bozeman; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were in Osawatomie Cemetery with local services cared for by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.

Memorials were made to the church.
