OCTOBER 27, 1907 - MARCH 18, 1981

Mrs. Pauline Frances Coffelt, 73, lifelong resident of the Osawatomie area, died Wednesday, March 18, 1981, at Holiday Manor, Inc. The only child of the late Frank and Irene Billam Cook, she was born near Osawatomie, Oct. 27, 1907.

She attended the Osawatomie schools and graduated with the class of 1926. On July 2, 1930, she was married to Virgil N. Coffelt at the United Methodist Church in Paola. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1971.

Mrs. Coffelt was a member of the Baptist faith and had been a worker in the church, teaching Sunday school and holding various offices. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees.

Three sisters-in-law, seven nephews and four nieces survive.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home at Osawatomie. The Rev. Rich Roberts, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. Mrs. Ida Phares provided organ selections.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Coffelt, Robert Curtis, Daniel Coffelt, Basil Dean Coffelt, Robbie Curtis and Don McDougal. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.

Memorials were established to the cancer fund or the First Baptist Church of Osawatomie.
