Services for LaVonne J. Walker, 518 Lincoln Ave., Osawatomie, were held Friday in Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker died March 16, 1987, in Fort Scott, the daughter of William N. and Josie Steele West. The family moved to Osawatomie when she was a child. She grew up here and attended local schools, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1925.

She and Walter Walker were married Dec. 17, 1925, and they made their home in Osawatomie. They were parents of one daughter.

Mrs. Walker was a member of the United Methodist Church of Osawatomie and its Philathea Class. She was also a member of O'Swan Extension Homemakers Unit. She had also served as president of the Osawatomie Alumni Association, the Women's Booster Club and Royal Neighbors.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter, who died Dec. 17, 1974.

Survivors include her daughter, Joan Lanphere, Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Cleda Stambaugh, Cody, Who.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Ted Hunter conducted the services. Organ selections were provided by Nelle Dollar. Pallbearers were Robert Bruntz, Lee Chancellor, David Wilson, Jim Peterson, Greg Lewis and N. J. Chamberlin. Burial was in Osawatomie Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name to the United Methodist Church of Osawatomie.
