ROBERTA EDGERLE BARRETT

APRIL 29, 1907 - JANUARY 27, 1958

Roberta Mae Barrett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Edgerle was born in Louisville, Kansas, April 29, 1907 and passed away at her home, January 27, 1958. She moved to Osawatomie in November 1909 and attended school, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1925 and later attended Kansas University.

She was employed in the Missouri Pacific offices at Osawatomie in 1930 and at the time of her resignation was secretary to the superintendent.

December 2, 1933, she was united in marriage to Francis O. Barrett. To this union one son was born, Charles Francis Barrett, August 29, 1946.

Roberta was not only a devoted wife and mother but gave of her time unselfishly to her many friends and neighbors. She was a talented musician, playing the organ and piano in her church, First Church of Christ Scientist, for many years; also for the Music Club and many other entertainments. She was a member of various civic clubs and secretary of the Recreation Commission of Osawatomie at the time of her death.

Surviving are her husband, Francis Barrett and a son, Charles Francis, and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held in the Eddy Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 29, 1958, at 2:00 p.m., Mrs. Ethel S. Moss officiating. Interment was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.

Floyd Hedberg sang "Lord's Prayer" and "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" accompanied at the organ by Rex Grow. Glen Peck, Clyde Black, Ambrose Wolken, Raymond Laird, James Powell and Morrell Miller were the friends who served as pallbearers.
