Blanche O. Johnson, 94, Osawatomie, a native of Louisburg, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 17, 1904, at Louisburg, the daughter of Richard Arthur and Pearl Grace Hinderliter Bratton. The family moved from Louisburg to a farm southeast of Beagle in 1909 when she was 5 years old. She attended Deer Creek Country School and Osawatomie High School, graduating in 1925.

She was married to John Patrick Johnson on June 27, 1925, at Osawatomie. They made their home on a farm southwest of Beagle and became the parents of two children. Her husband preceded her in death May 10, 1980. She moved to Osawatomie in 1987.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Beagle, the Ladies Aide and the Hobby Club.

Others preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Harvey Bratton and Walter Bratton, a sister, Esther Ellis, and a grandson, Larry Johnson.

Survivors include her son, Jack Johnson of Osawatomie; her daughter, Betty Cohen of Leawood; a brother, William Bratton of West Plains, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. The Rev. Beth Hodgson officiated. Jean Nickell played "The Old Rugged Cross" on the organ.

Burial was in the Beagle Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Johnson, Tim Johnson, Barry Cohen, Chris Cohen, Richard Bratton and Bill Ellis.

Memorials have been established in her name to the church.
