CLAWSON - Alma Clawson, 83, longtime resident of Osawatomie, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 1989, at her daughter's home in Rescue, Calif.

The daughter of Owen and Olive Flint Tilford, she was born May 19, 1906, in Altoona, Kan. The family moved to Osawatomie when she was a child. She grew up in Osawatomie, and attended the schools there, graduating from the Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1924.

On July 16, 1924, she was united in marriage to Ellis P. Clawson in Ottawa.

Mrs. Clawson worked for K. R. Johnson Oil Well Supply for 15 years as a clerk and typist.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Order of the Eastern Star, all in Osawatomie.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Alma LaJune Clawson.

A daughter, Shirley A. Brunts of Rescue, Calif., three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren survive.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Osawatomie Cemetery under the direction of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home of Osawatomie. The Rev. Ted Hunter officiated.
