Graveside services for Walter Taylor "Buck" Jolley, 723 Main St., Osawatomie, were held Saturday in Lane Cemetery. Mr. Jolley died last Wednesday in Miami County Hospital, Paola. He was 82.

He was born July 21, 1903 in Osceola, Iowa, the son of James and Ann Jackson Jolley. The family moved to Osawatomie when he was a small child. He attended Osawatomie schools, graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1922.

In 1922, he began a career with Missouri Pacific Railroad and became an engineer in 1929. He retired in January 1973 with more than 50 years of service.

He married Lois Juanita Williams Aug. 9, 1935 and they were parents of four children. She died June 21, 1972.

In December 1972, he married Hazel Irene Ewing in Miami, Okla. She died Feb. 29, 1984.

Mr. Jolley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Osawatomie and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter.

Survivors include two sons, Walter Madison Jolley, Davenport, Iowa, and Paul Jolley, Paola; two daughters, Juanita Marie Jolley, Carl Junction, Mo., and Judith Ann Villono, Canton, Ohio; a stepson, Clifford C. Holley, Jr., Victorville, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis JoAnn Smith, Tulsa, Okla.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Howard Curry and the Rev. Richard Crooks conducted the services. Arrangements were cared for by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.
