FRANCES HARVEY FINDLEY

CLASS OF 1918

DECEMBER 16, 1899 - AUGUST 20, 1970

A longtime Osawatomie school teacher died August 20, 1970 in the Miami County Hospital. Frances Cameron Harvey Findley was born December 16, 1899 in Roncerverte, WV. She was 70.

Mrs. Findley taught in the Osawatomie school system for 37 years. In 1939, she married John M. Findley. He preceded her in death in 1946.

Mrs. Findley was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers' Sorority, and was a charter member of the Osawatomie Business and Professional Women's Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Johnson, Tacoma, WA; a stepson, John E. Findley, Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Barbara Ann McCall, Newton; one brother, John B. Harvey, Omaha, NE; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Long, South Bend. WA; and five grandchildren.

The Rev. Robert L. Piper, Paola, officiated at the final rites in the Eddy Funeral Home. Organ selections were provided by Mrs. John Dollar.

Pallbearers were William Lewis, Emmett Keller, George York, John Dollar, Edwin Funk and W. R. Butler. Interment was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
