DECEMBER 10, 1898 - AUGUST 13, 1978 

Lars Peterson, 80, Rte 1, Parker, died Aug 13, 1978 in the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett.

The second of four children of Charles and Amy Shinkle Peterson, he was born Dec. 10, 1898 in Parker.

Mr. Peterson attended the Hickory Grove Grade School, Parker High School and was graduated from the Osawatomie High School in 1917.

He was a farmer in the Parker area all of his life.

On Jan. 29, 1925, he was married to Mary L. Carlile in Osawatomie and they had three children.

Mr. Peterson was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on April 8, 1967.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Seifert, Greeley; two sons, Charles L. Peterson and Carroll L. Peterson, both of Greeley; one sister, Mrs. Elsa Dysart, Garnett; two brothers, Glenn Peterson, Paola, and Dwight Peterson, Sedona, Ariz; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services were held in the Parker United Methodist Church last Wednesday with the Rev. John Burgreen Sr. officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Joyce Hardesty, organist and Mrs. Marjorie Prentice.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Jerry Peterson, Bob Peterson, Mike Peterson, Alan Peterson and Joe Seifert.

Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, Parker, under the direction of the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.
