MARGUERITE COOK PECK

CLASS OF 1915   

MAY 5, 1897 - JANUARY 19, 1970

Funeral services for Mrs. Marguerite Cook Peck were held at the Eddy Chapel, Osawatomie, Thursday afternoon. Rev. Robert L. Piper officiated, Mrs. Mary Ricketts and Mrs. Dorothy Heckart sang the hymns accompanied by Mrs. John Dollar. Pallbearers were James Moorehead, Lynn Bauman, Edwin Cook, Melvin Stockwell, Allan Cortner and Glenn Bigelow. Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.

Mrs. Peck died January 19, 1970, at Holiday Manor in Osawatomie, at the age of 72 following a long illness. She had been a patient at the rest home 17 days, following surgery and treatment at a Kansas City hospital. She was born in Osawatomie May 5, 1897. For many years she was librarian in Osawatomie and also served in the same position at the Osawatomie High School. For a time she was employed at the Menorah Medical Center and at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park.

Ms. Peck was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Osawatomie, a member for over 50 years of the Eastern Star and active in the Osawatomie High School Alumni as a member of the Class of 1915.

Surviving are a son, William N. Peck, of Springfield. Mo.; one brother, Willard Cook of Overland Park, and three grandchildren.
