John Luther Chambers, 76, formerly of the Osawatomie community, died at a Lebanon, Mo., hospital Tuesday morning, May 27, 1969, of a sudden heart attack. A former resident of Kansas City where he worked as an anesthetist, Mr. Chambers had lived at Osage Beach, Mo., the past two years.

He was born January 28, 1893, in rural Miami County, son of Jesse and Stella McCullough Chambers. He was a graduate of the Osawatomie High School class of 1912. His first wife, who was Dorothy Dunaway, preceded him in death. While in Kansas City he was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and after moving to Osage Beach transferred his membership to a church there.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred of the home, and one sister, Mrs. Florence Estes of Osawatomie.

Mrs. Estes plans to attend the funeral to be held at Camdenton, Mo., today, Thursday. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery there.
