CARMEN ALLARD COX

CLASS OF 1912

SEPTEMBER 20, 1893 – AUGUST 2, 1956

Carmen Allard Cox, daughter of Judge and Mrs. J. W. Allard, was born in San Lucas, Calif. in 1894, and passed away at the Four Pine Rest Nursing Home in Raytown, Mo., Thursday, August 2, 1956, at the age of 62 years.

She was married to Wiley J. Cox, who preceded her in death in 1944. She made her home in Osawatomie until 15 years ago, moving to Kansas City. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the American War Mothers and Episcopal Church.

She leaves two daughters: Marjorie Rummel and Inez Kraft; three sons, Richard, Raymond, and Robert Cox, all of Kansas City, Mo., and a sister Mrs. Inez Elick of Springfield, Mo.,, and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Birchard Funeral Home Saturday, August 4, 1956 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Howard Johnson officiating. Gertrude (?) and Anna Lee Billam accompanied at the organ by Ida Phares, sang “In the Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset.” The pallbearers were Roy Huckshorn, Merle Ensle, R.D. Nichols, Foseter Conklin, Mac Steele, and Harry Yocum. Interment was in the Elmdale Cemetery.
