RAYMOND MORLEY

 CLASS OF 1910

APRIL 5, 1893 – NOVEMBER 7, 1931

Raymond L. Morley was born in Abilene, Kansas, the son of Nellie Williams and Harry Parker Morley. He passed away at his home in Los Angeles, CA, November 7, 1931, following an illness of a few months, at the age of 38 years. He was for many years an employee at the Kern County Courthouse in Los Angeles. He served in MO- Co. B, 120 Engrs and war records show him a Civilian W/S Strategic SVC (OSS) Company in Almeda, CA.

Funeral services were conducted at the Flickinger Chapel with the Rev. Alonzo Reynolds officiating. Mrs. Alvin O. Smith was soloist and Roy Foster accompanied her on the console. Interment was in the American Legion Plot [Block 1219, Lot 1] in the Union Cemetery in Bakersfield, CA.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. N. L. Morley, a sister Mrs. Jake Vanderlee of Bakersfield, and a brother Robert Morley of New York.

Ray Morley, as he was known here, several years ago attended the local schools and graduated with the 1910 class from Osawatomie High School. His classmates and many friends here are indeed grieved to hear of his untimely death and extend sympathy to his bereaved mother and sister.
