OPAL PAULINE BURTON TEGLER COFFEEN

CLASS OF 1907

SEPTEMBER 1, 1888 - MAY 24, 1979

Mrs. Opal Pauline Coffeen, 90, formerly of 423 Main St., died Thursday, May 24, in Holiday Manor. She had been a resident there for several years.

The second of seven children born to Lucius and Esther Taylor Burton, she was born Sept. 1, 1888 in Moberly, MO. Her family moved to Osawatomie when she was a small child and she was graduated from the Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1907.

On Sept. 1, 1909, she was married to Edward Tegler in Osawatomie and they had one son, Jack. Mr. Tegler worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He preceded her in death April 22, 1945.

Mrs. Coffeen lived in Olathe and later returned to Osawatomie.

Besides being a member of the United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Grand International Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Local Engineers.

Mrs. Coffeen was preceded in death by her son, two brothers, and four sisters.

Among the survivors are three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday in the Eddy-Birchard Chapel with the Rev. Gene Riley officiating.

Pallbearers were William Eddy, Irvin Walter, Archie Parks, Fred Wicke, Merle Ensle and Dan Koirtyohann.

Burial was in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
