IDA MULLINS

CLASS OF 1906

APRIL 13, 1885 - JANUARY 1974

Services for Miss Ida Mullins, a retired school teacher and lifelong resident of the Osawatomie area, were held Monday in Eddy Funeral Home. Miss Mullins died Saturday in Miami County Hospital at the age of 88.

Born April 13,1885 on the Mullins homestead near Osawatomie, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Florence Roberts Mullins. She graduated in 1906 from Osawatomie High School and attended the Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia.

After teaching in the country schools, she joined the Osawatomie system and taught for about 5 years. Part of this time, she served as principal of Meek School.

She was affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church and Guild; the Business and Professional Woman's Club; and the Friendly Garden Club.

Survivors include her three sisters: Mrs. Lottie Williams, Osawatomie, Mrs. Adelaide Barels, Whittier, Calif. and Mrs. Ruth Douglas, Kansas City, Kan. and one brother, Chester Mullins, Osawatomie.

The Rev. David Irwin officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. John Dollar, organist. Pallbearers were Fred Wicke, Nelson Cowden, Donald Weaver, Raymond Mathia, William Diediker and Joseph Whiteford. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
