SUSAN WHITEFORD WEST

Services for Mrs. Susan Whiteford West will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Osawatomie Cemetery. Mrs. West, who was born at Osawatomie, lived in the Kansas City area most of her life. She was 90 and was a resident of Overland Park. She was a 1905 graduate of Osawatomie High School.

A leader in garden clubs in the Midwest, she was former garden columnist for the Kansas City Star. She died October 7, 1975, at a nursing home in Edwardsville. She was a member of the Country Club Christian Church, Kansas City. Mrs. West was a daughter of the late Silas Whiteford.

Surviving are her stepmother, Mrs. Hattie Whiteford, Nevada, Mo.; three half-brothers, Charles Whiteford, Nevada; Ivan and Joseph Whiteford, Osawatomie, and a niece, Mrs. Evelynn Wheat, Mission Hills. Her husband, Fred West, preceded her in death.
