The Class of 1898

Mrs. Anna Dorthea Kolbohm Reyburn was born March 28, 1882 at Pacific, Mo., and died Feb. 20, 1964, at the Miami County Hospital in Paola.

In 1886 she came to Osawatomie with her parents, who preceded her in death. She graduated from the Osawatomie High School in 1898, and in 1902 she was united in marriage with Walter Glenn Reyburn, who died in 1927.

Mrs. Reyburn served as librarian at the Carnegie Library for seven years, followed by 12 years as high school librarian and study hall supervisor. In addition to her years as a teacher, Mrs. Reyburn was girl's sponsor for 11 years and assisted in sponsoring youth activities in the Presbyterian Church.

She united with the Presbyterian Church in 1929, and her membership was creative and devoted all through the years. She served the church as a trustee, teaching in the Church School for 20 years, and served in the women's organizations.

Mrs. Reyburn was a charter member of Northeast Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Kansas City, Mo.; charter member and past president of the Osawatomie Monday Study Club; past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club; and past president of Missouri Pacific Women's Club. She was associated with the First Federal Savings and Loan Assn. in Osawatomie for many years, and was a director of the organization at the time of her death.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Gudger of Osawatomie and Mrs. Emma Wright of Duate, Calif.; several nieces and nephews, and will long be remembered by all who attended Osawatomie High School, and her many friends.

Funeral services were held in the Eddy Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 with the Revs. Frank McDowell and Howard Johnson officiating. Rex Grow provided organ music.

Pallbearers were John Dollar, Roy Carpenter, George Hunsperger, Chester C. Pennock, Frank Platt and Joseph Whiteford. Burial was in the Elmdale Cemetery.

Out-of-town persons attending the services included Mrs. Emma Wright of Duarte, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Gudger of Yates Center; Miss Patricia Gudger, and Mrs. Cecil Wall of Wichita; Mrs. Donald Baker, St. Louis, Mo.; W. E. Burton, Lees Summitt, Mo.; John David Cole, Lawrence.

Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Shields and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh W. Whiteford of Paola; Miss Marcia Cole, Rex Grow, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beeson, Ralph Beeson, Richard Wagers, Mrs. Ruby Karr, Miss Jo Ann Gudger and Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Gudger and son, Charles, all of Kansas City, Mo.
