James T. Bussert, son of Andrew and Elmira Bussert, was born in LeRoy, Kansas April 13, 1876, and departed this life February 16, 1935, at his home at 107 Brown Avenue, Osawatomie, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 3 days.

In 1894 he came with his family to Osawatomie and was graduated from the Osawatomie High School in 1897.

He was married to Rilda May Smith in 1905, who survives him. Other survivors are a son, Glen C. Bussert; two grandchildren, Frances and Charles Bussert, several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

A Christian Science service was read by Mrs. Corman Rennie, Saturday, February 19, at 2 p.m. at the Eddy Funeral Home. Mrs. Esther Teeter was soloist with Mrs. Eleanor Beasley at the organ. Pallbearers were Dale Goudie, Bob Wilhoit, J.O. Rennie, Claire Stroup, Will Michael, and Russell Cartwright. Interment was in the Whiteford Cemetery.
