LILA WEBER RANNEY

CLASS OF 1896

SEPTEMBER 29, 1881 - MARCH 14, 1963

Mrs. Lila Lang Weber Ranney, widow of the late Fred T. Ranney, formerly of Osawatomie, died March 14, 1963, at the Northern Pacific hospital in St. Paul, Minn. She was born Sept. 29, 1881 at Osawatomie, daughter of Albin and Ida Roberts Weber. She was highly educated in Kansas schools and taught in various Kansas communities including Osawatomie High School where she had graduated in 1896.

She was married to Fred T. Ranney in 1917 in Minneapolis, Minn., where they established their home. Mr. Ranney died several years ago following a long illness.

Mrs. Ranney was a member of the Osawatomie Monday study club and Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also affiliated with the Unity society of Practical Christianity and became an ordained minister in that faith, serving as minister of the Unity Christ church in Minneapolis almost 40 years.

She had no immediate relatives. Mrs. Karl Ranney and Mrs. George Weber of Osawatomie are sisters-in-law.
